FAABulous Football Week 9: Now is the Time
Congratulations, you survived the Week 8 Bye-Maggedon! Now heading into Week 9 this should be easy with only four teams on bye with CLE, PHI, NYJ, and TB.
We all know the FFPC regular season is short and many teams are hanging on by a thread at this point... now is the time to secure a viable path to earn a top seed and seat in the sprint.
There are two paths to achieve this record and points. Either your team needs to start scoring big time numbers near the top of your league or you need to win out most of your head-to-head matchups.
This is also a time to start spending that money if you got it, remember you can't take it with you. If there are viable players available at this point don't be afraid to spend a little more to secure a starting option or cover your bye weeks.
Plan ahead for your onsies, stash a defense with a good playoff schedule, find kickers in dome games without weather concerns, and fire those darts at rookies who could earn larger roles down the stretch.

A Look Back at Week 8: Ship Chasing Team Standings and Waiver Wire Wins
I went through team by team, listing the players we won on waivers Week 8 and the amount we won the players for, followed by what the average bid was for those players across Main Event Leagues.
I also included some of the top players that we did not win and shared our bid range and the average bid those players went for in Main Event Leagues.

Winning Waiver Bids:
Emanuel Wilson $11
Waiver Average Bid: $24
CIN Team Defense $21
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Evan McPherson $1
Waiver Average Bid: $2
Matchup:
Won (4-4)
1081.20 pts (5th)
Finally the minisodes team got a win, keeping them in the mix while they sit barely outside the top seeding. Several of the injured and banged up players on this team have a week 9 bye, so if they can survive this week the rest of the season outlook should improve.

Broken Social Scene
Winning Bids:
Devin Neal $2
Waiver Average Bid: $59
Evan McPherson $1
Waiver Average Bid: $2
Matchup:
Won (5-3)
1088.20 pts (5th)
Is this a team of destiny? Not only has this team ran hot on waiver wire deals, but they have managed to put up big scores and even wins against all odds. Sean Tucker finding the end zone and Troy Franklin going off against Dallas was chef's kiss. If the team can sneak through it will have Bucky, Hampton, Bowers, and Godwin who could return and offer some big fire power in the sprint.

Neko Case
Winning Bids:
Jaylin Noel $43
Waiver Average Bid: $37
Devin Neal $52
Waiver Average Bid: $59
CIN Team Defense $21
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Matchup:
Won (4-4)
1042.25 pts (8th)
My team held on for the win this week which it desperately needed to stay alive. This one still feels on life support, especially at running back. We need to win out and hope to get some bigger scoring in these final weeks to have a shot at continuing to the sprint.

Arcade Fire
Winning Bids:
CIN Team Defense $21
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Matchup:
Loss (3-5)
997.45 pts (11th)
The loss hurt bad on the ADP Chasing team. We debated starting three Chargers, and QJ putting up the goose egg made what could have been a hot start run cold. I still thought the team had this one heading into Monday night, but the Commanders were shut down by the Chiefs here. There is only a few weeks left in the FFPC season, this one needs a big miracle.

Wolf Parade
Winning Bids:
Pat Freiermuth $11
Waiver Average Bid: $29
Jayden Reed $1
Waiver Average Bid: $3
CIN Team Defense $7
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Evan McPherson $1
Waiver Average Bid: $2
Matchup:
Loss (2-6)
1029.20 pts (11th)
Another brutal loss for a team I thought that turned a corner. Ceedee returned with a pedestrian score while we dropped Mike Evans and watched Judkins leave the game with a shoulder injury. This team has been through the ringer and the record reflects that, but if it can find the ability to put up some big final weeks there is a chance...

April
Winning Bid:
Jayden Reed $1
Waiver Average Bid: $3
CIN Team Defense $21
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Matchup:
Won (4-4)
1078.95 pts (9th)
Not only did CrakRok team win, but they beat Chad on the same week we got a RJ Harvey hat trick. I'm not saying I believe in coincidences, but sometimes the universe has some damn funny jokes. April is launching a come back here and I am a believer that we can prevail.

Islands
Winning Bids:
Pat Freiermuth $27
Waiver Average Bid: $29
Matchup:
Lose (5-3)
1185.20 pts (2nd)
I know that Islands lost, but its hard to complain about the points this team put up in Week 8. One thing I love about FFPC is that good teams are rewarded...meaning if you put up the points you will advance even when the variance of head to head matchups doesn't fall in your favor.

Hot Hot Hot
Winning Bids:
Jayden Reed $32
Waiver Average Bid: $3
Matchup:
Won (6-2)
1119 pts (3rd)
This team feels like it has it all, solid points, a winning record and Jonathan freaking Taylor. I am very excited about this team heading down the stretch and into the sprint.

SC
Winning Bids:
Christian Watson $12
Waiver Average Bid: $7
Pat Freiermuth $12
Waiver Average Bid: $29
Matchup:
Loss (5-3)
1202.85 pts (3rd)
The final team suffered a devastating loss. I'm not talking about the fantasy matchup, but rookie RB Cam Skattebo who was off to a monster start to his career, I wish him nothing but the best. Obviously there is a big whole at RB2 going forward, but the team is still in a very strong position heading down the stretch.

Week 9 Waiver Priorities for FFPC
Below are all the players I like for Week 9 for FFPC leagues. I break down all players into tiers with FAAB suggestions, followed by player analysis and a list of players to consider dropping.
This article is also intended to provide value for those of you who play in deeper league formats and dynasty leagues.
Please note that with a drop list, you do not have to drop these players and all suggestions are general as it is impossible to cover all nuances of individual leagues.
